Directions to Westwood Lodge Ilkley Moor

By Road…

From Leeds City Centre
Take the A660 or A65 directly to Ilkley

From London, the M1 and our suggested route avoiding Leeds City Centre!

  • Head north on the M1 and M621 towards Leeds City Centre
  • Leave M621 at junction 4 and carefully follow signs for A61 towards Harrogate
  • Continue around the City Centre and out on the A61 Scot Hall Road still towards Harrogate
  • After 4 miles, look out for a small roundabout with a left exit called Kings Lane. Follow this, for ages, noting that after about half a mile to continue on Kings Lane towards Alwoodley you will need to do a short right and then left at the top of the hill!
  • Continue along Kings Lane crossing over the A6120 Ring Road continuing through Alwoodley, out into the country (still Kings Lane!) and eventually coming to Arthington Road at a Give Way T-junction. Turn right here, past the sign for Golden Acre Park and then first left onto Kings Road (the only sign is on the verge itself – easily missed in the dark!)
  • Continue until coming to the A660 (Leeds Road) at a roundabout Turn right onto the A660.
  • Following all signs for Skipton, continue on the A660 then A65 directly to Ilkley.

  • Follow M65 east to its end at Colne

  • At Cross Hills, to avoid a notorious level crossing, turn left at Barclays Bank (7.5t limit) and then right at the roundabout on to the A629 following signs for ‘Bradford’

  • After passing through Silsden continue for two miles until reaching the A65
  • Turn right onto the A65 towards Leeds and go directly to Ilkley
