| Westwood Lodge is situated on the very edge of the world famous Ilkley Moor (shown above) in the ancient West Riding of Yorkshire in England. You are literally on the Moor as soon as you cross the cattle grid at our gates! |
|
| Whilst there is little traffic other than the odd passing sheep, deer or pheasant, you’re not going to find yourself 'in the middle of nowhere' staying here. Westwood combines a rural location with close proximity to Ilkley town itself (just down the hill) plus all the places - town and country - that you might need to get to. |
|
As a base for sight-seeing in Yorkshire and The Dales, Westwood is hard to beat.
The vast majority of the major sights are within an hour by car, and a large number, such as Bolton Abbey, Skipton, Harewood, Harrogate, Brontë Country and the heart of The National Park are within about half-an-hour.
A day out at the seaside is also a viable. Morecombe, on the west coast, is less that 90 minutes away, and Scarborough and Filey, on the east coast, only a little more.
